Prom 2007
What was good for prom 2007
is good for prom 2008.
Here is a list of
what most seniors did for prom 2007.
Our tradition is to
miss the Friday we have the prom which is no big
deal because the principal knows that the girls
didn't come to school because they had to get
their hair and nails done. The whole prom 2008
event starts with the asking to prom.
Instead of just coming out and asking a girl, the
guys give a bag of tootsie rolls and balloons
filled with shaving cream with a letter that said
"Hey 'toots'... I noticed you're a pretty
'smooth' gal, and I would 'burst with joy if
you went to Prom with me" and then the girl
has to pop all the balloons to find his name. The
girls could answer in some cleaver way too.

Prom
2007 was a whole-day event. There is usually about
2 hours to get ready before dinner and pictures
happen. After the dance, people went with
their groups to someone's house and just kick back
and watch a movie or went to an after party.
At a lot schools,
they have three major parties... Winter Ball,
which is sponsored by the Sophomores... Junior
Prom, which is sponsored by the Juniors... and
Senior Ball, which is sponsored by the Seniors.
Winter Ball is normally on a Friday night. Junior
Prom is on a Saturday night and Senior Ball is
also on a Saturday night. Winter Ball and Junior
Prom are open to the whole school while Senior
Ball is only for the seniors unless you get
invited. The tradition is the week before prom you
get your nails done and go tanning... the day of
the prom you get your hair and make-up done and
then go pick up the boutineer for your date. If
you are going with friends you call them up to
make sure u get there on time. If you got a date
you are usually ready before he picks you up so
you won't have him waiting for you all night long.
It's up to the different parties of people whether
they will meet at the park or whether they will
meet beforehand at someone's house and go to the
park in the limo together. Most of the time the
girls meet at one girl's house to get picked up
and the guys at a guy's house to get picked up.
Then, it's off to the park. Well, with over
a dozen limos parked along the street, you have to
park a bit down the roads. We get to the park
about 5pm to meet and take pictures and then it's
off to the prom. You jump in to the limo and have
the greatest time of your life, dance all night
long with the guy or girl of your dreams. Then
comes after prom you go to parties and stay out
all night long usually you have more fun after
prom then at prom! The dance normally starts at 8
so many people go in groups to dinner and then to
the dance. During the dance there are pictures,
refreshments and the crowning. After the dance
people either go to hotel parties, house parties
or the beach where people normally drink and just
hang out until the next morning. Then before you
go home your date gives you a long kiss and tells
you what a great time he/she had with you and how
he wishes this night would never end.

I go to
an all girls school and we have a
partner all boys school. On the day of
prom, the boys go into school in the
morning and go to the auditorium. They
have etiquette lessons, including
which fork to use, napkins in the lap,
and chew with your mouth closed. Then
they proceed to the gym and have a
last minute dance lesson (which never
quite teaches them well enough, if you
could see their dancing!). After that,
all the guys have to write a letter to
their date which is presented to them
at the prom. It's really sweet!
All the girls wear a long straight
prom dress; for junior prom we wear
ball gowns and for senior prom is fish
tale gowns. After the senior prom the
place to be is the shore where there
are usually at least 2 hotels rented
out to our school.

Every year here, we make a big deal out of prom
and prom 2007 was not different. The junior class
hosts it for the seniors. The boys' tradition is
to try to look their best. It is held on a
Saturday night and most people rent limos or go in
nice cars. Most people spend Saturday getting
ready and going to dinner at an expensive
restaurant. At the dance we have a DJ, who most of
the time, forgets to play the theme song. Then
afterward, we have an After Prom Party. There is
usually some cheesy gifts and then we all go to a
pre-paid breakfast at a designated restaurant.
It's a lot of fun, but we always end up asleep all
day Sunday.
Prom 2007 started at the beginning of the year by
having the class do a fundraisers to raise money
throughout the year to pay for our decorations,
and whatever is needed for the dinner and dance.
It's a all night event starting at 7pm with a
dinner, music, karaoke, play auction, play
gamboling, all you can eat buffets etc. Prom 2007
was so much fun that it was amazing! The dinner is
usually catered, then the speeches are done by
teachers and students, then our diplomas are given
out, after all that we get a band to play for the
after party, end up staying out till the next day
and ruining our expensive dresses and tuxedos, and
head to a friends house to get smashed all over
again. For some, all those years of school makes
two days well worth it!
For some high schools prom 2007 was a pretty big
event. The prom was held at a fancy Hotel in the
ballroom area. It was a lot like a movie première:
The prom fans composed of friends, family and
anyone interested came by to watch the graduates
march into the hotel, to look at the decorations
and of course, the dresses. Even traffic was held
up because it was such a popular event. Having
everyone there watching your entrance really makes
you feel like a star. It's almost like going to
the Oscars!

At
my school, every comes to prom in
outrageous things. The goal is to do
something no one has ever done before.
Last year, a couple came via hot air
balloon, and another couple came in a
helicopter. They have used old cars,
ski-doos, golf carts, coke trucks,
anything and everything imaginable.
Guys and chaperones alike wear
traditional Scottish kilts. It's
hilarious, and they even hire a
bagpiper and dance.

For our prom 2007, the juniors were the
organizers. Prom was on a Saturday, and the Friday
before the juniors got out all day to decorate.
The cafeteria was closed due to decoration, and
the objective for the younger students was to to
catch the sacred "peek" of the prom
construction. On prom night, all the girls
got their hair done in the morning, and at night,
everyone went out to dinner. We walked out on the
floor in front of the whole community and got
announced. Then, we walked to the cafeteria to see
the junior's creation, and party. After prom was
over, there's a breakfast, and then there's casino
night which is gambling with chips and an auction
for stuff at the end of the night.
The proms are what you wait for all four years.
The Junior Prom 2008 is a formal event. The Senior
Prom is extremely formal and is usually held at an
expensive city hotel, or a country club. The
couples usually group together and rent
limousines. We have a receiving line at the prom
and than it's dinner and dancing all night. After
the prom, the couples go out to breakfast and then
off on a mini getaway to either the shore or the
mountains. It's so awesome! Some people opt to go
to this island that is on the outskirts of long
island. Everyone just goes and hangs out on the
beach and watches the sunrise. After prom,
everyone usually takes a boat cruise around
Manhattan. Very romantic place to hangout with
your friends and your date.
Prom is something special that you wait to
experience. You have your Junior Ring Dance and
the Senior Prom. Both are very special and
important. You spend a lot of time preparing for
these two events. Prom goes as usual, juniors and
seniors only unless invited. The big events happen
after prom. Parties right after prom, everyone
finds a good secluded spot then drinks and tokes
up all night. The after parties are all over the
place and they are awesome. People rent party
buses to go to the beach!
At our high school the big night starts out with
an awards banquet honoring all the people that got
awards through out the year. All juniors and
seniors can go. After the banquet, there is the
Grand March for couples to parade through, then
there is the actual dance. We also invite a
neighboring town to the dance, since they don't
have enough people to put on their own prom. The
Junior class does all the arrangements and
decorating. Our high school show choir performs at
the banquet.

Prom is
held Thursday night at a fancy place.
People go to dinner with their dates.
Usually the way of transportation is a
limo. No one wants to drive a crappy
car. At the dance there are many
activities, like gambling, drinking,
and eating. There's this dance when
all the guys line up against the wall
and the girls have to go pick someone
they want to dance with, EVEN IF IT'S
NOT THEIR DATE! Then we have a contest
for the best dressed couple. After
prom everyone goes to after parties at
the beach or other hotels. It's fun
because no one gets carried away and
everyone has a good time. The next day
you get up and everyone wears their
dresses/tuxes to school and all the
7th & 8th graders get to see how
everyone looked.

At our school, we do things the right way, we
party from the day the tickets go on sale till the
day they are done. This year the plans are as
follows, we all skip school get hair and nails
done and so on. We all meet for dinner and preside
in all the limos and sports cars that are rented,
go and party it up on the dance floor and on to
the hotel parties and crawl home later that
morning.
We have our
commencement ceremonies on the Saturday during the
afternoon, and everyone gets their diplomas and
walks up on staged in your cap and gown. After
that, we all get ready for prom. Before prom, we
go for dinner and have drinks to celebrate
graduation. Prom is from 8 until 12am, and then we
are bussed to the community center for "Dry
Grad" where we stay (if we want) and party..
no alcohol, but fun. It's a big fun deal and
something to remember.
The guys wear tux's and pick the girls up in
limousines then go into town to have a drink then
on to the prom which starts at 9. The prom lasts
until 1am. At 1 the parties start first at clubs
then move round houses they last all through
Saturday and night and finally finish sometime on
Sunday. After a full 48 hours of drinking and
partying for 25 of us its only 1 day to rest until
we're of to IBIZA for a week with no parents. Sun,
sea, sand and clubs the perfect way to finish off
2 months of exams and 12 years of school.

Its all
about friends. Anyway we all get
dressed up in amazing attire, and head
to dinner at a restaurant of our
choice, usually something really nice.
Then we do something like Mini golf or
something FUN for awhile. At about
10:30 we head to our school, which has
been transformed into something
AMAZING. It doesn't even look like a
school. We have different themes every
year as in Tropical Paradise, Swing,
winter wonderland, Night in Veins.
Sometimes, we have a masked prom, it
is a competition to see who can make
the best mask. This year is Holly
Wood! We show up at about 10:30
because no one ever stays long. We go
to see the decorations and stop in at
the casino to play a couple rounds of
the dating game and black jack. Then
we head out to all the parties!! There
are always HUGE parties prom night.

At our school, we
have our grad and prom on different nights, but
prom is always on a Friday. Every year the prom is
held at a different location, and the food is
awesome! The girls usually take that day off
school to prepare and what have you, but it's
worth it. They look great! A lot of people rent
limos which will also drive you around town for an
hour or so after you leave. Then everyone gets
ready for the grad party!
At my school, we
only have about 200 students in each class, so our
Prom is held in our gym. Juniors and Seniors are
allowed to attend Prom, but the Juniors organize
and decorate for it. The Juniors choose a theme
and decorate the gym and the hallways to the gym
using the theme. It's always very beautiful. To
someone who didn't know better, they wouldn't even
realize it was a gym. The Juniors decorate the gym
the whole week leading up to Prom. They pick 10
sophomores to serve and put on skits at the
banquet. Since it's basically for the Seniors,
they don't find out the theme until they buy their
tickets, or if the Junior Class chooses to, they
can keep it secret until the night of the Prom.
Then, on Prom night, the whole community lines up
on the sidewalks leading up to the doors to the
school. The community shows up to see the dresses,
and who can show up in the oddest vehicle. We have
had people drive race cars, golf carts, hearses,
police cars, go carts and four-wheelers. There are
spotlights on us as we get out of the car. Then,
an announcer introduces us, and we walk with our
date to the doors. Inside the Prom king and queen
are crowned. After prom, the Junior and Senior
parents hold After Prom, to keep us from getting
into trouble. At about 4 in the morning we leave
with our dates and go have breakfast. After
breakfast we go to church in our gowns and tuxes.
